英国可能将大熊猫“甜甜”和“阳光”送回中国

疫情对英国的冲击现已涉及到了动物园。据英媒卫报报导，英国可能会因新冠疫情形成的经济压力，不得不将旅英大熊猫“甜甜”和“阳光”送回我国。   早在2011年12月，我国与英国爱丁堡动物园正式签订合同，赞同送两只大熊猫到英国寄养，租期为十年。“甜甜”和“阳光”也作为友爱的世界使者住进了爱丁堡动物园。这两只大熊猫深得英国民众喜欢，当然，也给当地动物园带来了更多的游客和收入。   "Yang Guang and Tian Tian have made a tremendous impression on our visitors over the last nine years, helping¹ millions of people connect to nature and inspiring them to take an interest in wildlife conservation." 在之前的9年时间里，“甜甜”和“阳光”给游客们留下了深入的形象，让无数人接近天然，激起人们维护野生动物的爱好。   但是跟着新冠疫情在英国越来越严峻，爱丁堡动物园被逼在夏日闭园3个月，这直接形成了严峻的经济丢失。动物园康复敞开后，游客数量也大大削减，动物园根本处于捉襟见肘的状况。   "It costs about ￡1 million a year to lease a mating pair. The closure of Edinburgh zoo and Highland² Wildlife Park for three months due to Covid-19 has had a huge financial impact on our charity because most of our income comes from our visitors.
